Departure in 4 . . 3 . . 2 . . 1 . . .

Things have gotten very weird . . . let me explain.

I'm at a point where everything I do is accompanied by the thought of "this will be the last time I do this without a baby" or "before baby" or "while I'm pregnant" or "this year." As in, waking up this morning and thinking "Ah, it's Monday morning, bummer. Oh. This is the last Monday I'll go to work this year!" And then "This is one of the last days I will wake up in my own home without a baby."

This past weekend was spent preparing. I washed all baby's clothes, sheets, blankets, etc etc etc. Welcome to mommy hood! I think I need to learn to love doing laundry. Nick and I also did some final stuff in the nursery, including hanging curtains and cleaning out the closet so that it could be used for baby things only. I also took a stab at beginning to pack for Arizona. I'm generally not the greatest at packing to begin with because I over analyze what I will and won't need, and then always end up throwing in one last thing (read: 8 last things) just in case. Well, how do you pack light for an entire month!? Taking into consideration that my clothes fit differently everyday and that when I travel back my life will be entirely different. The Answer? Pack a few dresses, some leggings and move on. Right, cuz I'm so good at that!

Hubby is being so great about my obsessiveness to be prepared. It's so hard that I'm out of time to get things done at home but regardless of having to travel, I guess we probably all feel like we're not prepared no matter when baby arrives. I wish that he could come to Arizona with me now because the hardest part of leaving is how much I'm going to miss him and the little time left with just the two of us.

In other baby news, Congratulations to our good friends Prezmek and Iwona on their new arrival! Maximilian Boinski was born Friday, Sept 16, 8.89 ounces. Mom, Dad and baby are doing great, they tell us they haven't slept much but it doesn't matter because "you can't not love them. Get ready."
