Dandelions and Sun Hats

Sometimes a moment can be so prefect.

Colette and I were walking around the yard to get some fresh air before bed time. I reach down and picked a white, fluffy dandelion. I took a deep breath a blew against it's little feathery seeds and together we watched as they floated through the air.

And Colette giggled.

it was sweet. and innocent. and truly perfect. It warmed my heart and it's a moment I hope I can remember forever.

~ ~ ~

Saturday afternoon Nick got done with work early and the sun was shinning. We all headed out to Blind Slough, a popular spot for picnics and swimming (yes, swimming) when the weathers nice. We laid out our blanket and our little family just soaked up the sun.

The previous weekend we went camping for the first time with Colette! Well, I should say we tried to go camping. Colette went to sleep just fine but after 4 or 5 wake-ups and a very unhappy baby I threw in the towel around 11pm and drove home. Yup. And she and I slept in our own beds for 4 whole hours before she woke up again. We did get a little more sleep after that and in the morning I decided we'd head back out. Nick and Derek stayed through the night and Colette and I arrived back just in time for campfire breakfast! Although I took some pictures, they aren't uploaded yet, but the view was amazing and the outdoor time was pretty great too. Our next camping adventure is just going to require a different game plan.

And a few other memorable times from the past week:

Trying out the new shopping cart seat cover. I think she's saying "Wow Mom! Look all at this room for my toys! This ride is a.w.e.s.o.m.e!"

Colette destroying some 'avocado hummus'. I think it was a hit. This picture was taken after she'd already been cleaned up once. You can use your imagination and just fill in all the bare-cheek area with green smush.

My little creeper. I put her on the rug about 3 feet from this chair and she gravitates toward it. I haven't quite figured out how she's doing it, but she scoots while staying seated, just a little at a time. You can see that she's pretty proud of herself. I do believe she's already posing for the camera . . .

And to say goodnight, our sunshine baby.
