Soo Big!!

It's been over a month since my last update and as always, it's been a big month! (There's also been big happenings at the Boggs house so a new post is not far behind)

Colette has learned several new "tricks" including "So Big!", high fives, walking with assistance and perfecting her waiving skills.

If you're not familiar with "So Big" it goes like this:

We say: "Colette, How big are you?"
She smiles and lifts her arms up over her head
And We say: "Sooo Biiiiig!"
And then she usually claps for herself.
Sometimes she will just look at us and lift her arms, waiting for us to say it. We find it adorable and she's pretty proud of herself for figuring out that little trick.

Similarly, she now likes to give high fives, and in repetition. One high five is just never enough. It cracks her up each time.

And speaking of, she has a tendency to just crack herself up all the time. Over dinner. While playing with toys. Or talking to her toes in the car. She'll go from chatting up a storm and then break into giggles. She must be telling some pretty funny jokes or stories and I CANNOT WAIT until we can understand them too!

In other big news - we've dropped her nighttime feeding and have been sleeping through the night! (well, most nights) She still has a tendency to get up much, much earlier than momma wants to but the solid nights sleep is such a gift.

Grandma Sara was here for a nice long visit, a whole month! We all had a great time and Colette really enjoyed her one-on-one Grandma time. Sara watched Colette all day on my work days and Nick and I even got to go out for a date! We took a few drives out the road and on a trip around Three Lakes Loop we saw a moose! It was on the road right in front of us. As we continued to approach it turned and just started trotting right now the road so we got to follow her for quite a ways before she dashed off into the woods. It was the first time I saw a moose on the island and I thought it was awesome! Poor Colette didn't get to see it though due to her still-backward-facing car seat. Next time!

We also spent and afternoon at Man Made Hole with Jay and his girlfriend while they were visiting from Italy. Nick splashed around in the water and caught an old King Salmon - by hand! Colette is pretty unsure about those slimy things, that is until it's cooked and on her plate! Then you'd better watch your fingers!
