Today is a very special day - it's National Dance Day! The day is sponsored by the tv show So You Think You Can Dance. They have put three short routines online and encourage people to learn one of them and record their group dancing. This year we were able to organize a group of people in Petersburg and it was AWESOME! I had intended to tell you all about this when we started planning so I could gush about being excited - but now today is the day and I just have to tell you how spectacular it was! My friend and co-dance teacher, Kaili and I learned one of the dances from the video and then invited anyone and everyone to join us this morning at the dance studio to learn the routine. The two of us cannot take credit for getting everything set up, we had lots of help and people spreading the word. All in all, we gathered up about 25 people ages 8-58! (okay, these are approximate ages and I'm taking some liberties here but I know we had a self proclaimed "over 50 crowd" and they rocked it!!)
After a lunch break we regrouped at one of the harbor docks for recording. We had a perfect partially-cloudy day with the harbor, Wrangell Narrows and Petersburg Mountain behind us.
From this angle, me and the belly are on the far right behind my friend Erin in the white tank. If you've never had the experience of seeing a pregnant lady do hip hop, I highly recommend it. No one would ever praise me with having "swag" and my attempts at hip hop are usually pretty entertaining regardless. Add the swinging belly and you're guaranteed some good chuckles.
Oh, Did I mention that we ALL wore xtra tuffs?
More pictures of this amazing day to come later on. In addition I'll share the video with you all as soon as I can. :)) We had so much fun and I can't wait for next year!
In more baby news, the crib and glider chair have arrived and we'll probably but those together next weekend . . . WHILE COLLEEN IS HERE! The bedroom-soon-to-be-nursery is empty and a nice clean slate to start decorating. Of course this means all the stuff that was in that room is currently scattered throughout the house. And just for the aw factor, here's a little sleep sack I knitted for baby.
