Tutus and Pigtails

Oh the excitement of having a girl! I really can't deny that I'm excited about these girly things to come, after all I still sport pigtails on a regular basis and think tutus are appropriate at any age. (there are many perks to working at a dance studio, and yes I have tried on a lot of the costumes) Any mommies, aunties, or gammies out there with tips or instructions to making your own tutus, send em my way! I know a thing or two but I'd love some new ideas.

Sorry about the delay for any of you who were checking to see if I posted again. Once again my computer was out of commission but thanks to some awesome friends we're up and running again. So after a delicious mockijto and some dinner, here I am in our old man recliner while Nick flips channels.

I've now passed the 6 month mark! I can't believe I'm already this far, it seems like the time has flown by. Tomorrow is 25 weeks and I'll try to get some pictures up hopefully this weekend. Last week we had a bit of a growth spurt. One night last week I was completely out on the couch at 9pm and after moving to bed continued to sleep like a rock all night long. As I was getting into the shower the next morning, I actually did a double take of my reflection. That very belly that I look at everyday and (not so quietly) wonder when the bump will actually look like a bump, was bigger. No doubt about it.

Nay-sayers out there will still tell me I'm small, and Nick continues to insist that I'm tiny but I love every inch of my little bump. And to all the wise and wonderful women who have gone before me, I know the day will come where I change my tune and begin complaining that I'm too big. And for that time, I reserve the right to complain about that too - because I'm pregnant.

Today I had the sensation that my little girl was lying sideways and turned in toward my body so her back was pressed up against the outside. Of course I have no real idea if she did this, but that's what I decided it felt like.

So any who read my last post, may be wondering about the big decison . . . and we have decided that I will have the baby in Tucson! I'm really very exctied about this because I will love being around my family at this time and it's kind of cool that I moved really far away from home but my baby can be born in the same city as me. Since I can't deliver where I live, I realized it just didn't make sense for me to go anywhere else. Not to mention that I'm looking forward to some good weather in AZ in October. Our "summer" up here as been as crappy as it is everywhere else, it's just that our is cold and wet.

Our weather has inspired me to get some nesting done, and I made some baby bibs. I've also started a car-seat cover, which has turned into a much bigger project that I thought it was going to be, but that's okay. We're also finally decorating the bathroom AND Colleen is coming to visit! She's going to help with the nursery and bring some sunshine with her so we can play outside. I'm so excited for some good sister time. :) And not to add to the pressure . . . but she kinda said she'd paint a desert scene, how cool is that!? I'll also take this opportunity to let you all know I'm looking for any cute, pretty, colorful desert nature decorations for this room. Dad found a saguaro cactus growth chart and a javelina ballerina stuffed animal so we're off to a good start. I'm not going to find these treasures in Alaska, so please pass along websites or stores if you come across something.

Tonight may be another growth spurt night, I feel like it's an hour later than it really is and therefore much past my bedtime.

  1. SO happy you'll be in Tucson! I think that's awesome ;-) It sounds like you are enjoying every minute of being pregnant. I did too. I actually cried a few weeks before Noah's birth because I was mourning not being pregnant for much longer. Its such a special time.
